40 Beauty Questions Tag

Hi guys!

I was reading KeiKei's tag and I really wanted to do my version of it. So here it goes!

Skincare-

How many times do you wash your face daily?
I only wash my face once at night. Since I have dry skin, washing my face morning and night really dries out my skin. In the mornings I just wash my face with water.

What skin type do you have?
Dry, sensitive, acne prone skin

What is your current face wash?
The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam

Do you exfoliate?
Yep! I use a rubber brush thingy I got from Daiso everyday and use a gentle exfoliant once a week

What Brand do you use?
St. Ives Green Tea Scrub

What moisturiser do you use?
I use 2: Missha Super Aqua Hydrating Emulsion and Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion

Do you have freckles?
Nope

Do you use an eye cream?
I use the Lancome Genifique Yeux eye cream, but only because I have a sample size.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I do have acne prone skin, but I think it's getting alot better

Did you ever use Pro-Active?
Yep. I used it for about a year and at first it was great, but after a few months I think my skin got use to the products so it stopped working for me

Make-up-

What foundation do you use?
CK one 3-in-1 foundation or Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream

How about concealer?
Maybelline Super Stay 24 Concealer

Do you know your undertone?
I'm definitely a cool undertone, with a pink undertone

What do you think of fake lashes?
I don't use them often but they definitely make the lashes fuller and pretty

What brand of mascara do you use?
Mostly Covergirl, but I'm really liking my sample size of the Lancome Doll Eyes mascara

Sephora or Mac?
urm... Australia doesn't have Sephora and I don't use Mac products...

Do you have a Mac Pro card?
Nope

What make-up tools do you use in make-up application?
Brushes, eye lash curler, fingers when I can't be bothered using brushes

Do you use a make-up base/ primer for your eyes?
All the time! Although I have dry skin, I get super oily eye lids. Not sure how that works...

For the face?
When I can be bothered

What is your favourite eyeshadow (colour or shade)?
Whenever I use eyeshadow I always go to my Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in Natural Smokes

Do you use pencil or liquid eye liner?
Gel! I find that liquid liners can be harsh and too dramatic for everyday use and pencil doesn't last long on my eyes

How often do you poke your eyes with an eye liner pencil?
When I first got into make up, only one or twice but I don't do it anymore

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
They're pretty but I don't think that they are practical for everyday use

Do you use mineral make-up?
Only to set my make-up

What is your favourite lipstick?
Lancome L'Absolu Nu in 302

How about lipgloss?
I don't have a favourite right now...

What is your favourite blush to use?
I'm really enjoying the Etude House Cookie Blusher in #5 Apricot Pudding

Do you buy make-up on Ebay?
Nope and I don't plan to. There's the hassle of making sure that the product is legit...

Do you like drugstore make-up?
I love it! I only used drugstore make-up, but these days I'm venturing more into high end make-up

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
If I knew of one then I would totally go!

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yep! I really want to go to one

Are you clumsy in putting on make-up?
As in dropping my make-up? then yes

Name a make-up crime you hate
Spider Lashes and bronzer that hasn't been blending properly

Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neautral ones?
A mix of both, neautral make-up with a hint of colour

Which celebrity always has great make-up?
I find that alot of Korean celebrities always have prefect natural make-up on. Mainly BoA and Lee Hyori

If you could leave the house using just ONE make-up item, what would you use?
concealer!

Could you leave the house with no make-up on?
As my skin is now, no but hopefully my skin gets better so I don't have to wear make-up every time I go out

Do you think you look good without make-up?
... I'm just glad I don't have dark circles

What do you think of make-up?
It can definitely boost your confidence, but there's always people that use it for the wrong reasons. And I'm glad that at the end of the day, you can wash it off.

That's the end of it. I tag all of you guys! If you do this tag, then leave a link on this post because I would love to read yours! See you soon ^_^

Review: Soap and Glory Hand food (hand cream)

Hi guys!

My hands have been super dry lately and I saw this while walking around Myer so I thought I might try it. I've heard good things about this and I remember stylesuzi mentioning this and how good it was.

I absolutely love this stuff!

Pros:
- yummy scent
- absorbs in the skin super quickly
- doesn't have a greasy feel
- keeps my skin from getting dry and gross

Cons:  NONE!!

Rating: 10/10

Will I buy this again? DEFINITELY!!!

Review: CK One 3-in-1 foundation

Hi guys!

In one of my first posts I mentioned that I got a sample of this foundation and I loved it so much I decided to get the full size of it.

What it claims:
-daily serum, primer and face make-up all in one
-revolutionary complexion perfecting formula
-mimics skin tone and texture
-weightless feel on skin
-100% natural looking finish
-fresh and healthy looking complexion all day
-dermatologist tested. non-comedogenic
-suitable for all skin types
-SPF8, with vitamins A, C and E

I got this in the lightest colour (100 porcelain) and they do make quite a few darker colours.

I've used this for almost a month now, and its pretty much the only foundation I've used everyday. As you can tell from the swatches, the colour is quite yellow, but on my face it matches my face almost perfectly. One warning if you do decide to try this out, that all of the colours do have that yellow tone to it, but if you blend it enough it can blend well and won't be noticeable. I'd say that this is a light-medium coverage and is definitely buildable.

I use this right after my sunscreen (since it has low SPF its best if you use sunscreen in the day) and use a little bit more than half a pump of this. Most days I use my fingers (clean) to apply all over my face. I find that  I use less of this when I use my fingers than my foundation brush. Whatever I have left over, I blend on my neck and any areas that are still showing redness.

Pros:
-matte finish
- perfect for taking photo's due to the low SPF (SPF8)
- transfer free
- not heavy at all
- looks like skin
- doesn't show dry spots
- doesn't break me out
- has a super light moisturiser smell

Cons:
- does look slightly shiny after 6 hours
- only 30ml (1 FL OZ) and cost me $55

Overall I definitely recommend this for those with dry skin and those who are looking for a low SPF foundation for photo taking. Although it is made for all skin types, if you do have oily skin, definitely set this with powder.

I've definitely signed up to it. Have you? click here to sign it. Even if you aren't from Australia you can still sign it. I mean, who doesn't want cheaper high end make-up?

G-market Haul!

Hi guys!

I recently made an order on G-Market with Olivia and so I thought I would share with you guys what I got. If you guys aren't familiar with G-Market, then it's a Korean based website that sells pretty much everything, both Korean brands and well known brands (like a Korean version of Ebay). I love this site because the products are cheap, and you don't have to worry about whether the seller is legit or not. When it comes to Korean Cosmetic Brands, there's a sale on most of the time so you can save lots! And you get freebees with every purchase.

Etude House Essence Mask- Vitamin C

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

Left to right: #5 Apricot Pink, #6 Grapefruit Jelly

Comes with a super cute puff

(sorry for the bad quality photo... camera was an ass today- the colour in real life is alot brighter than in the photo)

Etude House Shini Star B.B Cream

Etude House Goodbye PoreEver Primer

Etude House "Look at my Lip" Lipsticks
Left to right: #9 Paparazzi Coral, #17 Ladylike Pink

Holika Holika Flying Magicara in #1 Curling

What I love about all of these is that they were all under $10 AUD!! Keep your eyes open for these as I'll review these in the near future. If you guys get the opportunity to check out G-Market then definitely do so!
See you soon! ^_^

How to: cure dry skin

Hi guys!

I was thinking about my skin and my skincare products and I though I would give you some tips on how to save your skin from being dry. When I was in high school, I had serious trouble with dry skin. All of the tips I found online didn't work for me and there weren't many tips for dry skin in the first place since the majority suffer from oily skin. These tips have saved my skin, and it would be great if you guys are living opposite Australia, since it's going to be getting colder.

DISCLAIMER: These tips are just from my experience with dry skin and what has worked for me. I can't guarantee that these tips will work for you, since everyone has different skin types.

My love/hate relationship: The Face Shop Nail Polishes

Hi guys!

I was cleaning my room today and I was going through my nail polishes and I've realised that I have quite a few. So here's the thing. I love the colours that The Face Shop have for nail polishes. They have lots of varieties of colours, finishes and textures.

Left to right: PP403, PP401, PK109, OR205, GR501, RD302
These are cream finishes

Left to right: PP406 (glitter/shimmer finish), BK901 (a black crack polish)

But there are 3 things I CAN NOT stand about them.

1. Drying time
They take forever to dry! I would leave them to dry for about 5 hours in total with doing the cold water method also, but for the reason I would sleep and the next day I would still see prints on my nails, meaning that they haven't dried properly...

2. Formula
Iv'e talked about this before, but I really hate the formulas for the polishes! They can chip within the first day and can look horrible by the end of the week. And the thing that bugs me the most is that the formulas are different to each other! It's really just luck when it comes to getting the good formulated ones.

3. Packaging
Since I do have a few polishes of course I would expect them to have the same packaging and all of that. But for some of my polishes, the handle of the actual polish comes off the brush part!

So I hope this was helpful if you were thinking of getting polishes from The Face Shop. Just keep these points in mind before buying them. Although there are thing I really can't stand about these, I still think they are worth a try and are quite cheap compared to other brands. See you soon! ^_^

My love at the moment

Hi guys!

Just wanted to share with you what I'm loving at the moment

My new Beast Album!

If you guys didn't know already, I'm in love with Beast! They're a 6 member Korean boy group and they're quite popular right now. This is the newest album called Midnight Sun, and I'm loving the songs in this album.

1. Midnight
2. Beautiful night
3. It's not me
4. 니가 ë³´ê³  싶어지면  (when I miss you; I think that's the translated title...)
5. 니가 싀는 날
6. Dream girl

The second and fifth track is definitely my favourite! If you guys get the chance, check it out! See you soon! ^_^

K Talk: anticipated dramas

Hi guys!

It's time for K talk again, and in this post I'm going to talk about the most anticipated dramas as of now.

1. To the beautiful you
This is definitely a drama I'm going to keep track of! After watching both the Taiwanese and Japanese version of this drama, I've hoped that there would be a Korean re-make of this, and it's finally going to be aired as of three days from today! If you guys haven't heard of this drama, it's suppose to be a re-make of the manga of Hanazakari no kimitachi e. It's one of those "everyone has seen" dramas. Even my friends that aren't really into watching dramas has at least seen this! It's got Minho (SHINee) and Sulli (f(x) ) as the main characters, and since I'm SM bias, of course I'm going to support this drama!

2. Faith
I actually have no idea what this drama is about but it's got of my favourite actors in it. Lee Min Ho is one of the main characters and I think he acts as a knight or something. I first saw him in a drama called I Am Sam, and he is more known for his role in Boys Over Flowers (another classic drama) as Goo Jun Pyo.

3. Arang and the Magistrate
Another drama I want to watch, purely for the actors! It's got Lee Jun Ki and Shin Min Ah as the main characters. I love them both and looking at the pictures for this press conference, they look really good together! It's first episode aired on the 8th so hopefully the subtitles come out soon!

That's all folks! If you guys know any other dramas that are coming out that you recommend watching, or you have any other drama to recommend, please leave a comment below! I'm slowing running out of things to watch. See you soon! ^_^

Review: Lip gloss

Hi guys!

This week I've been loving Daiso products. I came across these while I was browsing around. They are just called Lip Gloss and of course, all of Daiso products are $2.80 and since they where so cheap, I wasn't expecting these to be super good quality.

Left to right: No.65, 62, 64

Left to right: 65, 62, 64

These come in 2 other colours; a clear glittery gloss and another one which was sold out. When I swatched these I was so amazed as to how pigmented they where! No. 65 is a nude colour with small amounts of gold shimmers in it. The glitters aren't that visible unless you stare at it for a really long time. No.62 is a red/orange coral colour and has visible gold shimmers in it. The glitters don't feel grainy on the lips at all! No.64 is my favourite because it doesn't have glitters in it and it's the most pigmented out of all of them. It literally is like a liquid lip stick!

One thing I did notice though, which isn't really a big deal, is that these are actually made in Korea.
Pros:
very pigmented
glitters don't feel gritty on the lips
cute packaging
you don't get too much product on the applicator
not sticky at all!

Cons:
the only con for me is the smell. They all have the same smell but it doesn't have a horrible scent to them. I would like it better if they all had different scents to them.

Overall if you guys see these around, definitely grab a hold of these! For only $2.80 you can get really good quality glosses and they're great for everyday wear!

See you soon! ^_^

Nails of the week

Hi guys!

So last week I was wearing OPI's Black Cherry Chutney. It's one of my go to colours when I feel like wearing nail polish and of course the formula of it is great! It dries really quickly and it didn't chip until the 5th day! Which is kinda crazy considering I use my hands alot.

Rating: 5/5

This weeks polish:
Winmax New York, Light Color Nail Enamel in NO. 150

I mentioned this in my recent Daiso haul and I couldn't help but try this out. And so far so good! It's a sheer polish and is great if you want some colour on your nails but still want your natural nails to be visible. I only one coat and it looks really nice. It's a baby pink polish when you look at the bottle, but on the nails, it's more of a off white. When I first applied it, it looked kinda streaky but when it dries it doesn't look streaky at all.

Will report on the formula and the wear of it next week. See you soon! ^_^

DAISO!!

Hi guys!

Just recently my friend Olivia went to the new Daiso store in the city. If you guys don't know what Daiso is then it's like a Japanese version of the $1 store. In Japan it would be about 100 yen, so everything I bought was $2.80. And after my Lancome Haul, I thought I might try out some of the cheaper stuff.

Winmax New York polishes
Left to right: No#150, No#143

I decided to get this because I found that the brush that I bought from The Body Shop was a bit too harsh on  my skin, so I thought I would try this out since so many bloggers and youtubers use one of these as well. They also come in blue and pink.

I needed something like this to put my Innisfree Mineral powder in since it isn't enclosed in anything and feel like if I just dip my brush in it then all of the powder will get contaminated and I would get too much product.

I went around to the places I knew that stocks on Asian cosmetics and skincare and I picked up some more My Beauty Diary Face Masks.

Left to right: Pearl Powder Mask, Aloe Mask and Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask

So that's all I got today, and hopefully I don't buy anything else for the next week... going broke... See you soon! ^_^

K talk: Top 3

Hi guys!

So this post isn't going to be beauty related or fashion related, but more of a topic I'm super crazy about, which is KOREA!!! If you guys found me through Soompi, then you will know that  Soompi is a site which discusses anything and everything about Korea. I wanted to make this a weekly thing which I discuss all different topics such as dramas, fanfics, music and all of that good stuff.

This post will be about my top 3 songs, bands, dramas and variety shows at the moment. So here it goes!

Lancome Purchases!!

Hi guys!

If you guys just read my last post, I mentioned that I went to the Myer Master Class featuring Michelle Phan.  I was only intending to get one or two things, but I ended up splurging on a whole bunch of stuff, but in doing so, I saved quite alot of money when you compare to how much I would have spent if I bought each item individually.

Each person that goes will be able to redeem the tickets for a Lancome product valued at $50

Booklets and free magazine valued at $5.95

Limited Edition Glamour Eyes kit. Personally put together by Michelle herself.

Left to right: Colour design pallet (full size), Artliner (full size), Doll eyes Mascara (sample size)

Fresh and Luminous eyes kit

Top left to right: Ombre Hypnose shadow (full size), Definicils Mascara (full size) and Le crayon Khol pencil liner (sample size)

More free samples from the event!

Rough In Love lipstick sample in 322 Corail In Love

Genifique eye cream. So much product for a sample!!!

Bi- Facil oil eye make-up remover

Another sample of the pencil eye liner

Kerastase shampoo

I'm SUPER excited to try all of these new products! I have tried the Le Crayon Khol liner and I didn't really like it because it was too soft for me. I prefer a harder pencil because that way the liner doesn't go onto my lashes. I've also tried the Hydra Zen Neocalm moisteriser and it worked wonders for my skin! I'm so glad I got a sample of it! I almost screamed when I found it in the sample bag. I also got the Hypnose Mascara sample previously and didn't really like it. It made my lashes clump and didn't hold my curl well. But Olivia said that the sample is NOT compareable to the full size.

I'm really looking forward to trying out the Definicils Mascara and the Doll eyes Mascara since I've heard so many good reviews on it, and also the Bi-facil. Definitely going to try out the eye cream! I've been looking for a hydrating eye cream.

If you guys have any other Lancome product recommendations then please leave a comment below. See you soon! ^_^
