K Talk: Upcoming Concerts!

So for all you Aussies out there I want to let you guys know some upcoming concerts that will be happening.

CN BLUE
The date has just been confirmed for their concert!
June 1st at Big Top, Sydney
Not entirely sure whether I'll be going to it (since I will be needing my parent permission), but I've always wanted to go to their concert ever since they debuted. If you guys haven't heard of them, they're a 4 boy rock band. And what makes them different from other Korean pop groups, is that they play actual instruments. They usually don't play them properly (instruments not plugged in) when on music programs, thus I REALLY WANT TO GO TO THEIR CONCERT to hear them live!! No ticketing information has released yet, so keep an eye out for my post for that.

TVXQ!
One of my favourite groups OF ALL TIME!
No dates have been confirmed yet, but I have a feeling it will be the end of this year, since their 5 dome tour in Japan finishes sometime in June. Australia has been confirmed as a concert location. I've been in love with TVXQ since 2006 and most likely will continue to be a fan for the rest of my life! They were the first group I got introduced to regarding Korean culture and as strange as it may sound, they have gotten me though tough times in my life. Their passion for music and their "fighting spirit" have helped me with difficult stages of my life.
They did come to Sydney once for a KPOP concert in 2011 with other Korean groups, but I didn't get the chance to go because it was during my exam period. So if I don't end up going to this concert, I will most likely hide in a corner of my room and cry. T_T

Have you gone to any concerts? Is there a concert that you would like to go to?

Sigma Purchase

I've heard so many good things about the Sigma brushes so I decided to get two brushes. ( I bought these before my spending ban)

The P82 is pretty much a smaller version of the F82. I haven't used these yet so I'll get back to you on how these work for me. I have super high expectations for these, so hopefully they perform well.

K Talk: Dramas I'm currently watcing

Are you looking for a Korean drama to watch or want to start getting into? Then this is the post for you! This  post is going to be about the dramas I'm watching now, as well as some dramas I recommend.

What I'm watching right now:
 1. Flower Boy Next Door
This is about a girl who is stuck at home and fears society because she was bullied in high school. She goes outside one day and sees a guy she likes, and finds out that he lives on the opposite side of her apartment. As she spies on him, she gets caught by the guys brother. The drama continues to explore her story and the discovery of finding love and being loved. Check it out here

 2. Queen of Ambition
This drama is pretty dramatic. It's about a guy and a girl which are both orphans. They fall in love and get married but they're not in the best economic class; the guy struggles to earn money to support his wife's education so he becomes a 'host'. Their relationship falls apart and she ends up having an affair with a son of a rich company. This drama has made me cry and sometimes makes me want to punch the girl in the face! Oh, and not to mention my husband (Jung Yunho from TVXQ) is in it. Check it out here

3. Iris 2
This is the continuation from Iris and has only aired 2 episodes so far. I quite liked the first series and decided to watch this one. I have absolutely no idea what the story line is going to be and the storyline hasn't fully developed yet, but it's good so far. Check it out here

I recommend:
Teenage love: Playful kiss/ Mischievous kiss, Reply 1997, Shut up flower boy band, Operation Proposal

More grown up love: Cheongdamdong Alice, I miss you, I need romance, Lie to me

Historical: Queen In Hyun's man, The moon that embraces the sun, Arang and the Magistrate, Rooftop Prince

Comedy: High Kick series

Action: City hunter, Athena- goddess of war, Iris

Classics: Coffee Prince, Boys Over Flowers, Secret Garden, My Girl, Princess Hours

If you have any recommendations or any questions about these dramas, feel free to leave a comment below!

Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer

So I've had these for a few weeks and I think it's time for a review! This product has been hyped up by so many bloggers and Youtubers so I thought I would give this a try.

Claims to last up to 16 hours, giving perfectly glowing complexion and toned skin.

Contains Apricot Extract- radiance
Melon Extract- Hydration
Apple Extract- Anti-oxidant
Ginger Extract- Energy

Left to right: foundation, concealer

blended

FOUNDATION
I'm so glad I purchased this and now understand what the hype is all about! I've never had my skin look so flawless with a foundation before! With just one pump of this, I apply it all over with clean fingers and it does so much for my skin! Not to mention the colour is pretty exact (I use 51 Light Vanilla)

Pros:
- covers redness
- gives a medium coverage and covers almost all of my acne scars
- doesn't accentuate dry patches
- matte finish
- lasts for a decent time; I've used this in extreme hot weathers for almost 12 hours and it still looks great without touch-ups
-the packaging itself allows you to use all of the product, and not leaving product at the bottom of the bottle
-great for all skin types

Cons:
- doesn't contain SPF
- does have a slight fruity scent but goes away after a few minutes

CONCEALER

I got the concealer also in the shade 51, but as you can tell from the pictures above, the colour is quite different but when applied on the face and after really blending the concealer in, the colour matches so no need to worry. I think that this beats my Maybelline 24 Hour Stay concealer which I made as my go-to concealer. This Bourjois concealer does so much more!

Pros:
- covers pimples and acne scars really well
- gives you time to work with it and sets well
- doesn't move around thoughout the day
- a little goes a long way
- doesn't make skin look cakey

Cons:
NONE!

Will I repurchase this? YES! I will probably use this for the rest of my life! I absolutely love everything about this foundation! One thing to note about this is that there isn't a huge range of shades, so if you do find your shade, give Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer a go!

T_T So hopefully I save up to buy a few things on the list.

Products I regret buying

If you're into makeup and you buy makeup regularly, you will know that there will be things that you just don't like. Here are some of the things that unfortunately didn't work with me, with a mini review.

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Dome

They have this orange shade and also a light pink shade. I bought this on a whim and man do I regret it. The colour itself is really pretty but it's really hard to use. I have used this directly on my face and it removes all the makeup underneath and all of the face makeup ends up on the dome itself. I've tried this by using my fingers to apply this and nothing ends up on my cheeks. I would have to put a million layers for the colour to be the way I want it and even then, the product itself doesn't last long even with setting it.

Mabelline Lipstick in 025 Pink Please

This was my first ever lipstick that I bought and I decided to get this shade because many Youtubers were raving about this shade. Many said that this was a really good quality lipstick and would suit all skintones. To  me, it was quite the opposite. Once I put this on it washed me out, making me look lifeless. I've tried using a tiny bit on my lips, to using it like how you normally put lipstick, and it still didn't work for me.

Innoxa Summer Matte Collection Lipstick in Nude

This is a nude/pink matte lipstick and again, this did not work for me at all. It was extremely drying and was quite hard to apply since it isn't very creamy. Overall I just don't like this lipstick.

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Blush in 030 Roseberry
(excuse the dirty packaging. If you shop at Priceline, you will know how I feel)

The colour is nice but isn't very pigmented at all. I would need to layer this a few times for the product to show. Even though it's part of the Colorstay line, this doesn't last very long on the cheeks (maybe 3 hours or so). Wouldn't recommend this product as it is quite expensive.

The Face Shop Hydro Splash B.B Cream

I've reviewed this previously and my thoughts still stands. It has a strong grey colour to it and just isn't a very good product, and quite honestly, I can't imagine this product working on anyone. For a more in dept review, click here.

If you have tried any of these products, let me know how you thought of them. Are there any products you don't like?

2 February 2013

This time last year, I...

Went to South Korea!! I went for two weeks with one of my other friends and it was the first time I went overseas without family so it was really fun! This post will only be about my highlights from the trip, because if I mentioned everything I did, this post will be never ending...

WARNING!
This post will be picture heavy

Review: Etude House Look at my Lips Lipsticks

I bought these in my first G-Market order and I think it's finally time to review these.

Left to right: #9 Paparazzi Coral, #17 Ladylike Pink

Ladylike Pink

Paparazzi Coral
Pros:
- creamy
- not drying on the lips
- wearable colours
- small and cute packaging
- slight fruity scent
- cheap, I got these for $6

Cons:
- even though these are moisterising on the lips, they can actually look drying if you use too much or don't exfoliate your lips beforehand
- I find that if I have these in my bag, sometimes the cap comes off
- can be hard to find
- not very long lasting

Will I buy these again? Yes, when I get back into lipsticks. Right now I'll stick to stains and balms.
