Hi guys!
Today I'm going to be talking about all of the lip balms I currently own. I seriously think I have an obsession for lip products, especially lip balms. I try to invest in lip balms because I have a really bad habit of biting my lips to the point, sometimes they end up swollen and because it's winter ( in Australia) I need a super hydrating lip balm. As of right now the lip balms I own could literally last me a year or so. So without further ado, let me show you guys what I have!
Korres lip butters, Nivea lip butters, The Body Shop Born Lippy lip balms, Loreal Color Riche Nutrishine, Nivea Hydrocare lip balm, Soft lips lip balm, Maybelline Baby Lips, It's skin Macaron lip balm, Missha Limited Edition TVXQ lip balms.
I've heard rave reviews on the Maybelline lip balms. I personally will not repurchase. It does smell good, but the consistency is too thin for me. I find that it disappears after a few minutes even with a thick layer.
The Nivea Hydrocare lip balm was a big disappointment. It has no scent but it also doesn't moisturize at all. I actually use this for my dry spots around my mouth. It's great for that but then again, it's suppose to be a lip balm. So I won't be repurchasing this.
The Loreal lip balm I bought because I didn't have a lip balm on me one time and I wanted to try something I haven't seen before. It does have colour to it ( I got the coral colour) and it does show on the lips. It does also provide decent moisture, but at the price point (I got it for $10-$12) I won't be purchasing this again.
I'm currently using the It's skin Macaron lip balm and I'm actually glad I got it and now using it. I got this last year while I was in South Korea and I haven't touched it until now. It smells really good (like green apples) and it does moisturize really well. I would put a really thick layer on my lips before bed and it's still there when I wake up (which is the main thing I like about lip balms).
The soft lips lip balm I've had for a while and I'm trying to finish off. It has a pluming effect ( i think) as it gives a tingling (slightly painful?) sensation on the lips which I use to really like, But as for moisture properties, it isn't very good. The packaging is cute but isn't very practical. It's very narrow and small so you have to go over your lips a few times to get one proper coating.
I bought these literally on a whim, and honestly I'm regretting it. I got these for $18 each and I bought them because I heard so many good things about them. They do have good colour pigmentation, but when it comes to moisturizing properties, you can find a better alternative at a cheaper price. Man, I seriously have a problem when it cones to buying different scents of things. I always feel the need to get more than one scent of a product.
As a big fan of TVXQ, I couldn't help but get these. They are quite big in size (20g) and both of them I got for $25 (can't remember the site I got them from). I haven't had the guts to try these out yet, so I'll report back when I do use them. And just want to say, the scent of these are awesome! A bit fruity and floral, and not too strong
So to end this post
Ones I recommend:
It's skin Macaron lip balm
The Body Shop Born Lippy lip balm (check out my review here)
Nivea lip butters
Ones I do not recommend:
Maybelline Baby Lips
Korres lip butters (due to its price)
Nivea Hydrocare lip balm
Loreal Color Riche Nutrishine
The ones that aren't on the list are ok, but will not be repurchasing. Have you guys tried any of these? What do you think of them?
Wow! I'm really liking the look of the TVXQ ones! I'm a HUGE cassie ;D so I'd probably get these just for the collection rather than general usage!
ReplyDeleteI'm not that great with lip balms, but one of my friends is crazy about them. To the extent that she probably gets through a pot of vaseline in a week! The only lip balm I've found that she really loves is the Etude House Shini Star lip balm!
Everyone loves the Maybelline Baby Lips, I haven't seen them in England anywhere so I haven't bought them...
I prefer the stick type compared to pots because they're just so much easier to apply!
Honestly I just stick to plain vaseline! I've tried a number of lip balms but vaseline is so basic and great at everything that you can't not love it ;)
I don't like the babylips either! You are the first person that says that though!!
ReplyDeleteYou should try burt's bees. They are the real deal in lip balms!

I actually really like how the Maybelline Baby Lips range have thin consistencies. I don't like wearing thick lip balms during the day, so these are perfect. BUT yes, they are definitely not the best lip balms to wear over night.
ReplyDeleteI've heard really good things about the Korres lip balms but I've never bought any because they are so expensive.. it sucks that they aren't as moisturizing since they are so pricey :/
And I agree with you on the Nivea Hydrocare lip balm... was not moisturizing for me at all either. I really want to try the TVXQ lip balms now though! :p
WOW, the Korres lipbalms are super expensive! o__o Too bad they're not really good, though.
ReplyDeleteI have a problem with buying way too many things of the same product as well (bought all 9 tonymoly bunny lipbalms... WHY...)
