Empties + Products I'm throwing away

Hi guys!
So sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been quite busy at university and my assignments are now slowly building up. This post is going to be all about products I've used up as well as some items that I've kept for longer than what is expected and of course there will be a mini review.

Missha Super Aqua Hydrating Emulsion
I've used this for about a year now. It's ok. Quite hydrating for dry skin, but not enough on it's own. Might be too hydrating for extremely oily skin. The only thing I hate about this is the packaging; there is a bit of product left but because it's a glass jar, I have to bang the bottom to get product out which can be time consuming and frustrating. Not going to buy this again only because I want to try other products as well.

Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm
This was bought on a whim. I bought this quite a while ago, and used this while my skin was quite crazy with breakouts and extremely dry and flaky skin. This was one of the products that saved my skin, but I will not buy this again because it is quite expensive ($70 from what I remember) and also because my skin condition has changed.

St Ives Green Tea Scrub
This is a life saver! Some scrubs are more harsh and make my skin quite irritated and sometimes I find that there is still flaky skin left on my face. I tried this beginning of last year and have continued using it since. I can use this everyday mixed with my cleanser and it's gentle and does the job. I have already repurchased this and I probably will for a long time.

St Ives Apricot Scrub
One of the first scrubs I used. It felt quite harsh on my skin, thus I changed to the Green Tea scrub, but when I went back to the Apricot scrub just to finish the bottle, I started liking it again. It's great as an extra scrub once a week for a 'pick me up'. I have repurchased this also.

Holika Holika Flying Mascara in No#1 Curling
This is an ok mascara. It does curl your lashes and keeps them curled for the whole day. Does give a bit of volume. There is just something about the mascara that doesn't make me love it. Will not repurchase again.

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Pencil Liner
This was the first pencil eyeliner I tried when I first got into makeup. It's ok, but even though it says waterproof, it still smudges like crazy on my lids, and by the end of the day, I get panda eyes and of course noone wants that. I'm not sure if they still sell this but either way, will not be repurchasing.

T.N Dickson's Witch Hazel
One of the products that I tried to calm my skin back in the days. Many people have said that this was a lifesaver and killed all of their breakouts. Honestly it didn't really do anything for me. I'd say if you have little to mild breakouts then you might want to try this out, but if you have severe acne, then save your money for something else. As you can see there is product left. I'm trying to detox my skin (which I will talk about in my next post) thus I am throwing this away.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner
Again, another product to try clear my skin. This didn't do anything. It was good in the morning if I didn't want to clean my face in the morning but other than that, it didn't have a real purpose. This is for acne prone skin, but the weird thing is, is that it as alcohol in it which alcohol is known to irritate acne prone skin. I would get severe breakouts and use this, and it would just make my skin sting like crazy for like a minute. I tried to use this all up, but I couldn't do it! Will not repurchase again.

Man, I felt like this post is a very negative one. Do you guys have any product recommendations?

  2. I have both the apricot & the green tea scrub. I also suffer from horrible acne & flaky skin. I really recommend the Olay Microdermabrasion kit, I have not broken out for 2 months now! Great post~

  3. Good job on finishing your products! I love reading these kind of posts. The green tea scrub sounds great I might try it out.
For occasional break outs I use this clean & clear spot treatment thing and it works magically! :P not sure if you have it in Australia http://www.cleanandclear.com/product/acne-treatments/advantage-acne-spot-treatment
